"Time is the only thief that can mug you without you being able to arrest it." In spite of this, most Africans do not realize the need to manage it properly.
Time when properly managed, significantly affects all spheres of human development, thereby increasing productivity, efficiency, richness of economy and sustainable ways of doing things.
Improper time management on the other hand plunges the success of individuals in a reverse position. This has been the fate of Africa in the context of development. There is a truth that ought to be revealed to Africans, a truth that would set the continent on the pace for achievement within the shortest time. That truth is what sets the agenda for excellence and that is time management.
Consider a country like the United Kingdom where time management is rated high by all stakeholders as the richness of life depends on the quality of time management. Ponder if in such situations unemployment would be relatively high to countries who do not operate under the 24 hour module of work which is usually called the shift system.
As a matter of fact, policies of time management with strategic and innovative programmes must be introduced to help the ailing economies of Africa. This must be taught in schools, on the streets and agencies of socialization. This would effect changes from way of doing things to ways of thinking. This course would certainly reflect more of what we can do rather than focusing on what we cannot do. If there is one lesson that has lost it rhythm in Africa, one word that does not ring in the minds of children and keep them thinking about what should be, rather than what it is, then, it is time management.
A consistent education and agreed legislations by respective African countries would see a continent of hopelessness turn around with stores of treasures by ordinary people like me and you through a collaborative effort without loosing sight of civil societies that make the best impact in a more appreciative manner.
Remember, when the clock ticks before you act, you are a failure. The value for time is the happiness the vulnerable derive from what you do.
